Weekly Classes

All classes consist of five main elements:

centering
warm-ups
breathing exercises (called pranayama)
yoga poses (called asanas) and
relaxation techniques

Classes may also include some meditation skills. Classes are 1½ hours in duration. Students at all levels are encouraged to go at their own pace and do only what they can. The environment is always non-competitive and about listening to your body's needs and its inherent wisdom. The focus in usually inwards on oneself not outwards on others. "It's not about how it looks from the outside, but how it feels from the inside." The emphasis is on what you can do, not what you can't do.

Students are encouraged to select a class appropriate to their level of ability and knowledge, but can attend classes at other levels with the caveat that they are responsible for their well-being and resolve to not overdo it.

Chair Yoga For Challenged Bodies - Suitable for seniors or people with chronic conditions. Mat Yoga poses are adapted so that the participant may remain seated if required. Private Classes- Shy about joining a group class? Wanting individual focused instruction? Struggling with a particular condition?
For you, solo, or a few friends or family members, we can come to your home and provide a guided class with detailed instruction geared to your individual needs. All in the comfort of your own home.

All Levels - Everyone is welcome, but techniques are not always demonstrated or fully explained in order to not interrupt the flow of class. Modifications of different levels of a yoga pose are provided to accommodate all levels of ability.

Yoga Dance Fitness - It is a fun, guided movement experience that combines dance, yoga and aerobics. Using inspiring music, yoga dance fitness helps to open our bodies and free our life's energy. No experience is necessary. Wear loose clothes and bring water bottle, sneakers and exercise mat.

Restorative Yoga - Students are assisted by the use of props such as the wall, bolsters and blankets to remain in a gentle pose of surrender for a longer period. This is suitable for those suffering from a chronic condition or recovering from surgery or looking for a softer, easier practice. Most poses are done lying on the floor assisted by gravity.

Beginner - Introduces basic breathing exercises, yoga poses and relaxation techniques in an easy and accessible manner. For those who are new to yoga or looking for a gentler class.
